My Funky Life

Punch This Funky Link For The Song: My Funky Life

I said I’m in the kitchen, my red socks are itchin’, didn’t do the dishes, so I can’t cook the chicken. How about it baby — won’t you save my funky life? I said your daddy never dug me, your mama wouldn’t hug me, your baby sister bug me, your brother wants to slug me. I said how about it baby — won’t you save my funky life? Turn off the TV, get me up off my feet, I got a big appointment with some monkey on the street. How about it baby — won’t you save my funky life? If that ain’t poetry, grits ain’t groceries! This was always fun to to do back in the days of the R&B Cadets. People actually danced to it — I guess they weren’t listening to the lyrics! By the way, this song is in no way an endorsement of The Boston Red Sox, unless you are a fan. Then fine. The demo is layers of me, even the stumbling drums and the solo that is played for a laugh. If it wasn’t, you would have to cry. There is another version with the Cadets — I am saving that for a rainy day. For that one you will need an ocean of Calamine Lotion.
