Shakespeare III — Mac Mix

Click: Shakespeare 3

I’m sold. Mac Perkins is the guy. He plays percussion with Paul Cebar and Tomorrow Sound and I’ve been a fan ever since I saw saw him playing perfect shuffling triplets on a shakere, which is a giant gourd shaped instrument wrapped in a net full of noisy little beads. An instrument as hard to describe as it is to play, but Mac never makes it look that way. He was available after a session yesterday with the equally amazing Mike Frederickson and he brought one of my older posts, Shakespeare III to life with some inspired conga playing. Mind you, this is absolutely a first take. He listened, he played and, like all great musicians, he sympathized. The end result is much more fleshed out demo of this funny song about artistic genes. Mac Perkins, you is the real deal!
