Love’s ABCs

Click: Love’s ABCs

Pardon the shaky and shoddy aspects of this, I still owe this song a decent production. I have a few in that category. A career oriented careerist who was concerned with his career wouldn’t allow something like this to see the light of day, but I think the average TDJ peruser can make allowances. On the plus side, I got to steal a public domain melody—two really, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and The ABC Song. That means that thousands of first level Susuki Method violinists could have played on this recording. Most likely they would have done a better job than me. I like the Feldman lyric, it is so mournful—the singer has to be the unluckiest guy ever. It’s a list of rejection notices from the girls with first names that start the alphabet. I wonder if he ever got past C and  found some luck nearer the middle—maybe with ‘J’ or L. I’ve found L to be a very lucky letter and I highly recommend it. I never realized how sad the melody to Twinkle Twinkle/ABC seems to be. Maybe the happy, twinkly words hid that a bit. Adding a touch of class are Robin Pluer and my brother Mike on the chorus with their close harmonies.

For me – the answer to “Twinkle twinkle” in the background vocals needs to be more consolidated. Another nice song now

Thanks Annie, I agree… it needs a remix or a redo.
