Good Time

Click: Good Time

Here is a solid little tune I dreamed up in Nashville. The fact that I have omitted it from this post till now (apparently—I can’t find it in any search) seems odd. Since I wrote it, I have played it in my solo shows and every band I’ve been in, with the exception of Semi-Twang. We just haven’t had time to learn it. This version, from El Supremo, was recorded with a crack band in the studio (Bill Dwyer shines again). It seems real old-school to me. I like to think it could have existed in 1950s—maybe Peggy Lee would have liked it. When I play it with The Subcontinentals, it moves up in time all the way to the ’70s, with a bit of a reggae feel and a long stretch at the end where I get to ply my trade as a guitarist. For whatever reason, this is one I like to fool with on guitar.
