The Fragrance Of The Wine

Click: The Fragrance Of The Wine

The weird visual hoovering above this is by  Tpot, nom de silly of Tom Shannon, a fine artist from NYC. His usual thing is mysteriously floating objects. The lyrics are by Michael Feldman from the same period as yesterday’s song, Stars That Burn All Night and again, they border on some sort of stoned poetry. Beautiful, trippy and, my fault here, missing a verse. Sometimes I lived vicariously through Tom and Mike, who did some exploring I didn’t and beyond that, I’m not saying anything more. I used a home-made tuning I found back then and it seemed to put both songs in a very dreamy place. I like to think the music is worthy of these lovely words—the title alone is amazing. Is there such a thing as an American haiku? This would qualify if you aren’t counting beats, which I’m not. Actually I just did—the first verse is a total of twelve syllables, that’s what I call spare. The whole thing drifts by, awash in cheap backward guitars, like sands through the hourglass of wine.
