Heaven Or Bust — Prairie Oyster

Click: Heaven Or Bust

Meet Prairie Oyster. They are Canadian, so you know they are better looking. They are also well adjusted, nice, talented and politically informed. They have won multiple Junos (Canada’s Grammy, basically) for being that country’s best country band and played from one end of the continent to the other to appreciative audiences. I met their keyboard player, Joan Besen in Nashville, where we  became good friends and wrote some songs together, including this one. She is an amazing talent, her sense of what to do on any given song is never wrong and she is all over my CD El Supremo which she co-produced. She chose a couple of our co-writes for their CD, What Is This Country? She was on the original demo and I recall Phil Lee playing some very funky drums. It’s always been my ambition to invent something like Chuck Berry’s “coolerator” from C’est La Vie. When the Almost-As-Cool-As-A-Coolerator sweepstakes are held, I’d like to submit the TV Motor Coach. Listen to a great band stretch out on a fun song, tomorrow they play something a little more mournful on you.
