Hypnotized — Two For Monday!

Click: Hypnotized

Click Again: Hypnotized (Acoustic Demo)

Among the songs I’ve written with Michael Feldman, this one is unique. If I was a better self-producer, it would be on a rcording by now. It goes all the way back to the first couple of years I knew Mike and, though I love to say I didn’t stay in school long enough to like poetry, this one certainly is poetic. It describes an experience he had in the late ’70s that might have been more common ten years earlier at Woodstock, one that apparently turns reflections on a small lake in Madison into snakes. I guess I’d rather hear about those snakes than have them follow me around the rest of my days, so I never went out of my way to confirm their existence. I’m including two demos that hint at what this song could be but I don’t feel like I have really done justice to it yet. I am trying to imagine just what it needs without resorting to chemicals! The first demo has a very drone-y drum machine and a little keyboard called a Farfisa Pianorgani that my brother Mike found and donated to the cause. The second bonus track is just a boy and his guitar—I like the performance but I’m not to fond of the sound! I think to get this one right I will actually have to be hypnotized.
