Nervous Energy

Click: nervous energy

Tonight at Shank Hall, Semi-Twang celebrates the release of our second CD—let me tell you, it took a while! All of 23 years, as a matter of fact. It really is a long story, much more than I could squeeze into a book, let alone paragraph. I’m just very happy it’s happening and quite proud of what we came up with. Since I’ve already posted the demo and finished version of the title song, I thought I would  use Nervous Energy today. Lord knows I will be somewhere between caffeinated and adrenalized all day. I get that way before bigger gigs and I mustn’t be much fun to be around. In fact, I try to explain to others that I can’t socialize until after the show and that it’s really no loss, if you prefer fun and loose John Sieger to snappy, distracted and neurotic John. They say if you’re nervous before a gig it’s a good thing—it means it’s important to you and that you should channel all that energy into a good performance and on and on and on. I just know that when then things are right, it’s like a giant weight has been lifted off of me by about the third song and there is no better feeling in the world. It should be fun having a new CD and an audience willing to listen, so I will spare you the pre-show jitters and we can have a toast afterward. Hope to see you there.
