Busy

28 Busy

I admit it — I write too many ballads. Here is a little uptempo relief. This song has an upbeat and positive feel that I like. When I listen to it, it sounds like someone else did it. I cut the demo in the ’90s with some of my favorite Nashville guys— Rick Schell on drums, Bill Dwyer on guitar and Lorne Rall on bass, at Blue Planet Studio, Steve Allen’s comfy basement room. I would love to do variations on this happy little tune all the time, I’m especially proud of the little lick that drives it forward and the chords on the verse. It’s got momentum. Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving. Thanks for the giving in sharing your music. “Busy” and “When You Gonna” are some really listenable, hooky songs. John, you should be proud of the cumulative body of material you’ve crafted over the years. Lots of diversity there. You could certainly “re-visit” many of these for future inspiration – not that they’re lacking in their original format.
