Can I Get A Waitress?

15 Can I Get A Waitress

The list of apologies begins with Marvin Gaye. Can I get A Witness? certainly didn’t deserve this. Let me add to that list all right thinking enemies of the lowest form of humor, puns. I do love coffee and it is, to my recollection, the second song I have written about this highly caffeinated topic. This was recorded at Blue Planet Studios in Nashville and is a testament to the talent pool in that town and their apparent lack of better things to do on any given day. How else do explain the availability of drummer Bryan Adams (Buddy Miller, Shelby Lynne), bassist Dave Jacques (John Prine), guitarist Colin Linden (Bruce Cockburn, The Band) and keyboardist Joan Besen (Prairie Oyster)? Without further ado and endless refills, here is your hot cuppa.

i love the recording — that band is one salty crew! the song makes me want to have a cup of coffee, even though i’m only running on decaf these days …

john, this is a *much* better song than the coffee song on prairie home companion — maybe you should talk to garrison keillor …

Not sure Garrison is friendly to anyone associated with Feldman!
